Studying Renewable Energies in Germany

Interested in pursuing research in alternative energy sources but having almost no chance to do so at home in Estonia, 25-year-old Priit Pikk came to Germany. Since 2007, the Automation Sciences major from the Tallinn University of Technology has been studying at the University of Applied Sciences in Stralsund. After a semester in their Masters of Science Program in Renewable Energies, Pikk currently attends — and teaches a class at — Stralsund’s Spring School. German drilling equipment arrives in support of mine rescue operations

The rescue mission to free 33 miners in Chile is underway with German participation. An Australian machine is digging in the direction of the buried miners. A second drill head and motor has arrived from Germany intended to speed up the rescue operations already underway.
