The German-American Fulbright Program implements Senator J. William Fulbright's visionary concept: The promotion of mutual understanding between our two countries through academic and bicultural exchange. More than fifty permanent commissions support the work of the Fulbright Program on the binational level, among them the German-American Commission.


The German Academic Exchange Service ( DAAD) is committed to advancing academic relations between Germany and other countries as well as, more generally, to promoting the fields of education, science, culture and research. It is one of the world's largest and most respected intermediary organisations in its field.

German Marshall Fund

The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) is a non-partisan American public policy and grantmaking institution dedicated to promoting greater cooperation and understanding between the United States and Europe. GMF does this by supporting individuals and institutions working on transatlantic issues, by convening leaders to discuss the most pressing transatlantic themes, and by examining ways in which transatlantic cooperation can address a variety of global policy challenges. In addition, GMF supports a number of initiatives to strengthen democracies.
Founded in 1972 through a gift from Germany as a permanent memorial to Marshall Plan assistance, GMF maintains a strong presence on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition to its headquarters in Washington, DC, GMF has six offices in Europe: Berlin, Bratislava, Paris, Brussels, Belgrade, and Ankara.

IJP aims to further the understanding of promising journalists for political, cultural and economical developments far beyond the boundaries of their home countries. IJP sponsors highly skilled correspondents, producers and reporters from all media (print, tv, radio and online) between the ages of 18 to 40 years.
