Marketing Communication for young professionals
In a competitive job market, applicants with deep knowledge of their subject area and specialized competencies stand out from the crowd. The design akademie berlin, Hochschule für Kommunikation und Design is offering a Master's Program in Marketing Communication for recent graduates or young professionals who want to expand their skills.
The Graduate-level program beginning in the summer semester 2010 is designed to provide students with the specialized knowledge needed in so many career fields today. With intensive coursework in marketing and advertising, graduates will receive the communication skills to serve in many public relations roles, whether for corporations, institutions or governments.
Social media, networking and viral marketing are just some of the ways businesses today are reaching out to a public in information overload. The key requirements for communication professionals alone are soaring, as applicants are sought with ever greater knowledge and specialized competencies.
This is nothing new to Stefanie Kaberidis, a 3rd-semester student at the design akademie berlin. “After pursuing a degree in Cultural Studies at the Viadrina University in Frankfurt/Oder, I began a training program in marketing at Inventux Technologies AG. My Bachelor’s Program was specifically geared to events and cultural management, and many topics relating to marketing were not covered and I was really missing this expertise. The Master in Marketing Communication will qualify me for the entire marketing field. Because Inventux Technologies AG was convinced about the program’s content, the company decided to assume part of the costs.”
The program is designed to cover both theory and practical applications over four intensive full-time semesters, enabling graduates to apply their academic knowledge in the professional world immediately after graduation. It’s geared to those who’ve completed their undergraduate studies in another subject area, but who would like to qualify their professional skills with a stronger communications background.
Graduates of the program will be awarded the internationally recognized Master of Arts Degree, opening many doors in businesses and institutions in departments of public relations, project management, brand management and marketing. They will also be well suited for careers in marketing and market research agencies, non-profit organizations, associations and political parties.
Interested students have until February 15 to apply for the program beginning in the summer of 2010.
