Deutsch@YG explained
On the eve of its one-year anniversary, Young Germany is launching Deutsch@YG, a platform for young people interested in the German language. Today we introduce you to Sandra Evans, the tutor and course architect of Deutsch@YG. Starting in early fall, Sandra – using a unique multimedia approach – will work with our users from around the world.
 Sandra Evans
Welcome to the Young Germany team, Sandra. Tell us something about yourself and how you got into teaching German.
Well, I’m 31 years old and studied German as a foreign language. I pursued studies in this area for two reasons. The first is that I personally wanted to learn more about different cultures, and the second is that I believe that it is essential to understand the language and culture of the country in which you are living, studying and working. It’s my job to help people achieve this, and at the end of the day that’s what I enjoy the most – helping others.
You are still quite young, but boast extensive teaching experience. What did you do before joining the Young Germany team?
I have completed numerous practical trainings, and currently I work as a German language instructor. I have also worked as an author for different print and e-learning projects. I joined Young Germany in June, and I’m very excited about this opportunity and the chance to work with our visitors.
