International Journalists’ Programmes (IJP)
Description
Every year IJP awards around 120 bursaries to German journalists and their foreign counterparts. The international network of journalists built up by IJP is unique. More than 1600 journalists from over 40 countries have already taken part in IJP's programmes. Many of them work as leading journalists all over the world. In addition to the many personal contacts made, former delegates regularly stay in touch through alumni meetings and a regular newsletter. - American Fellowship (Arthur F. Eligibility/Application
Journalists of all media can apply to take part in the international bursary programs and conferences of the IJP. Prerequisites are at least two to three years of professional experience, and good or very good language skills, and the applicant should not be older than 40 years. Besides, eligibility is not determined by nationality but by place of vocational activity.
Program
The delegates work for at least six weeks as guest journalists in a foreign media organisation of their choice while at the same time acting as correspondents for their home newsroom.
