Germany and Mexico: Did you know?!

There are many things that connect Germany and Mexico. Here are 10 interesting facts:

1. Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries) was one of seven members of the Jury at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival this year.


2. Around 7000 Mexicans live in Germany.

3. Around 15.000 Germans live in Mexico.

Osorio, photo: wikipedia4. There are three Mexicans playing in the Bundesliga. VFB Stuttgart’s Pavel Pardo and Ricardo Osorio, as well as new Eintracht Frankfurt signing Aarón Galindo.
 
5. Germany was Mexico’s fourth biggest trade partner in 2006.

7. In Mexico there are around 940 companies with a German stake in the equity.

8. Famous German naturalist and explorer Alexander von Humboldt's traveled to Mexico in 1803/4 as part of his much-acclaimed exploration of Latin America.

10. The famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo’s (1907-1954) father was born in Pforzheim, Germany.
